-Discovered by John Henry Vivian in 1817 in the UK, Vivianite forms in waterlogged soils &

sediments and often grows with organic materials such as fossils and shells and sometimes

even grows inside of them. Originally transparent and colorless, it gains its deep shades of

green and blue through sun exposure. The more exposed to light it becomes the darker it will

become until it is almost black and no longer see through. This makes it important to store it in

dry cool dark spaces to reduce the risk of the colors changing!

-Vivianite is a very powerful healer, reminding the body to heal itself. This wonderful stone
